Toothpaste Bits are the Newest Thing and I'm Here for Them

Updated: Jan 24, 2021

The newest thing you didn’t know you need: toothpaste bits!

Plastic free, zero-waste, and carbon neutral. I meannnn did I just meet my soul mate?

If I’m being honest, I wasn’t sure about these at first. They’re not traditional, I don’t know many people who use them, and I don’t see them anywhere that much. BUT, in honest confession #2, I don’t think I’ll ever use another toothpaste again. It's amazing. It works the same way as regular toothpaste, minus all the plastic waste and harsh checmicals. They qualify as zero-waste too because refills come in compostable packets. Bite really thought of everything.

I did not make this up:

Over one billion plastic toothpaste tubes are thrown away every year. That's more than 50 Empire State Buildings worth that ends up in our landfills or oceans. If you're still under the impression that toothpaste tubes can be recycled, I'm sorry to tell you that most toothpaste tubes are made from mixed plastics, making them impossible to conventionally recycle (so are most disposable coffee cups, plastic bags, and cleaning products)

The good news?

If we act fast, we can help put a stop to all the needless waste. Unlike plastic, glass is infinitely recyclable, looks better on the counter, and can break down into sand.

For the skeptics: These toothpaste bits do everything that your normal toothpaste does: foam up, freshen breath, clean teeth, except, wait for it, NO waste! And they're still safe for your teeth: Bite uses nano-hydroxyapatite (nHAp) which is a non-toxic fluoride alternative that remineralizes enamel and protects your teeth. How to use (it's simple):

Chew a tablet and start brushing with a wet tooth brush, easy peasy.

Tablets come in a reusable glass jar, and refills come in packaging that’s compostable.

Lower waste = lower impact = healthier planet = healthier you.

By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. The time is now! Get on the toothpaste tablet train! Do it! Do it now!

I’m aware that this isn’t the norm - yet. but it is the future. And it’s easy to switch. Don’t forget your bamboo toothbrush while you’re at it✌🏼 (Bite makes them 100% plant-based, even the bristles)

Sustainable & low waste, but make it pretty: a philosophy behind 🌱
