The newest thing you didn’t know you need: toothpaste bits!
Plastic free, zero-waste, and carbon neutral. I meannnn did I just meet my soul mate?
If I’m being honest, I wasn’t sure about these at first. They’re not traditional, I don’t know many people who use them, and I don’t see them anywhere that much. BUT, in honest confession #2, I don’t think I’ll ever use another toothpaste again. It's amazing. It works the same way as regular toothpaste, minus all the plastic waste and harsh checmicals. They qualify as zero-waste too because refills come in compostable packets. Bite really thought of everything.
I did not make this up:
Over one billion plastic toothpaste tubes are thrown away every year. That's more than 50 Empire State Buildings worth that ends up in our landfills or oceans. If you're still under the impression that toothpaste tubes can be recycled, I'm sorry to tell you that most toothpaste tubes are made from mixed plastics, making them impossible to conventionally recycle (so are most disposable coffee cups, plastic bags, and cleaning products)
